I have always loved the idea of making beautiful things that people can keep, display, send to someone they love, or give as a meaningful gift.
Last year, I discovered linocut which inspired endless projects. That turned into experimenting with handmade books, cards, and other paper projects. Some have turned out exactly as I imagined. Others require a little more problem-solving than expected! Art truly is a process of learning.
As I’ve explored these projects, I’ve started learning about the business side of creativity, too. I would love to eventually do this full-time, but running a small business is no small feat. My question is how do you grow a small shop when you don’t have a huge budget or unlimited free time? I don’t have the answer yet, but I’m excited to learn as I grow. And I want to share what I learn to maybe inspire more future artists and young business owners.
